I have a tiny question.
I have done this before but I can not seem to rember it.
If I create a user in the controlpanel, homeshare and all
What command do I need to run to allow this user to create folders on its own homeshare on ftp.
When connecting to the user I just did I can not send files, via ftp, to the pub_html
This would be http:\\freescobox_ip\~username
Command me Dark Lord!

| What version of FREESCO? And are you running with the stock ftp server of FREESCO?

| I've just tried with FREESCO 037 and then there's no problem to create directories in the pub_html folder via FTP (I've used FileZilla as FTP client) of a 'normal' user created via the web control panel.
Command that may correct the problem (as root in a console or SSH session):
where username is the username of the account you've added.

| Did you try looking at the owner of the user's pub_html directory?
You can do that with the next command:
The pub_html folder should be owned by username.users
I did try adding a user with the 040 control panel, and the user was added, but the directory wasn't owned by the user. To be honest I'm not 100% sure because my vmware machine did not report back after creating the user, so YMMV.
Also did you try my suggestion I posted earlier to change the owner of the directory?
Another suggestion is to upgrade to a later version because 0.4.0 was the first 0.4.x version and 0.4.2 may be better.

| I think there's maybe a problem with adding a user via the web control panel.
When I added a user via the command line (command to use is useradd and then reply to the prompts) all went well. Did you try that?

| I've asked Lightning about this issue and he has confirmed it to be a bug. This is due to the SSH key generation for a new user that requires tty input for the random generator.
I'm sure this will get fixed in the next 0.4.x release ASAP!
In the mean time use the command line (via console or SSH session) to add new users.
Thanks for reporting!
